The department of Educational Leadership and Foundations provides programs that offer masters degrees to students seeking to build careers in the spectrum of educational administration in K-12, higher education or other non-profit educational environments. Each program students may choose between the Masters of Arts in Education (M.A.) or the Masters in Education (M.Ed.). The foundational courses of either the M.A. or M.Ed. program are similar; however the practical experiences lead to different careers paths. Those interested in a research based experience and anticipating continuing on to doctoral studies are encouraged to consider the M.A. option. Student wishing to become practitioners in the field of Educational administration in educational settings (either K-12 or Higher Education) should select the M.Ed. option which provides rich practical experience in the form of internships and practicums.
